Photo by Ginger PeachTerri Lyke is the co-authors of Marriage On A Lampstand: Exploring a New Paradigm for Modern Christian Marriage, published by Heavenly Light Press. She is a nationally renowned Catholic leader in Family Life Ministry. She has been involved in ministry to the Church in America for over 30 years. With Andrew, her husband since 1975, Terri was part of a pioneering team of couples and priests that began PreCana for the Black Community in the Archdiocese of Chicago. Together they coordinated that program for more than 25 years. Terri and Andrew designed the Arusi Retreat for Christian Marriages, which they have presented across the United States. They were national trainers of Exploring Relationships and Marriage with Fragile Families, a curriculum used in the Healthy Marriage Initiative. They have written articles for local and national publications on Christian Married Life, including their self-syndicated Family Reflections, which was published in diocesan newspapers around the country.  In February of 2012 Terri and Andrew were on the cover of St. Anthony Messenger, which featured their article, “12 Keys to a Sacramental Marriage.” In the summer of 2009 the Lykes were a regular feature on American Catholic Radio’s weekly segment “Marriage Moment.”

She and Andrew are the founders of Arusi Network, Inc., an organization that educates African Americans on the skills and benefits of Christian marriage. Together they served as advisors to the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops’ (USCCB) Committee on Marriage and Family.

In 2016 Terri retired from the profession of medical sonography after 38 years. Devoting her full attention to the work of strengthening families, she is now a licensed Relationship Coach, in association with the Relationship Coaching InstituteShe is the mother of two married young adults and the grandmother of four granddaughters and two grandsons.
